“Ready, Set …” Who Will Netflix Roast Next? Will It Be Another Sports Figure?

, , , , ,

Good or bad, Netflix’s roasts attract huge numbers. Although a bit uneven, The Tom Brady Roast was well worth watching, and a lot of folks did (an estimated 14 million). Who will be the next roast target? My picks include entertaining, sports, and political figures.

Could be?

NUMBER FIVE ON MY LIST: J.LO. Expect all kinds of cracks about Jenny From The Block’s failed marriages and ho-hum romcoms. She certainly has the star power, but she might be too likable. Another thing to consider: Audiences don’t seem to be as amused when the target is a woman. I’d suggest Jordan Hudson, but her profile isn’t nearly big enough.

NUMBER FOUR ON MY LIST: JAKE PAUL. After getting humbled in the ring, The Problem Child needs a fun rebound vehicle, and he’s the demo that Netflix covets.

NUMBER THREE ON MY LIST: TIGER WOODS. How many bad driving jokes can you stand? It’s very doubtful that he’d do it, as he seems somewhat private, but maybe the payday will entice.

My fav. Love it!

NUMBER TWO ON MY LIST: WILL SMITH. Two words: The Slap. This might put it all to rest. If he shows, this will be the most anticipated set of Chris Rock’s career. Group hug for Will, Rock, and Jada? Probably not. Martin Lawrence would be a hoot.

THE WINNER?! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP. This isn’t as far-fetched as it seems. He’s done it before – and he might be bored after his second term. I see a dais with world leaders and Tony Hinchcliffe, among others. This would be a show, and Trump is a showman. Huge ratings, and we know how he feels about that. Bring it!
