Tied for the most prolific turnaround in NFL history, the New England Patriots went from 4-13 in 2024 to 14-3 in 2025, and a Super Bowl berth as the AFC Champ. Is there more to come?
Despite being projected to finish last in their division and having another disappointing year following the Brady Dynasty, second-year quarterback Drake Maye, along with former Patriots linebacker and head coach Mike Vrabel, secured the division. They didn’t stop there, earning them the number two seed, tied for the best record, and beating three of the top five defenses.
The flip from 4-13 to 13-4 is the top turnaround in NFL history, a 10-game season-to-season improvement. It puts New England in the same historic category as the 1999 Rams (4-12 to 13-3), 1999 Colts (3-13 to 13-3), 2008 Dolphins (1-15 to 11-5), and 2001 Pats (5-11 to 11-5).
They then booked a ticket back to the Super Bowl, something all fans thought was impossible after their recent slump. The turnaround that Mike Vrabel has accomplished in one year has shown what this team is capable of. Their roster is full of young stars like Christian Gonzalez and TreVeyon Henderson, with a couple of veterans like Stefon Diggs and Mack Hollins to round out the team.
Combine that with a now-experienced, MVP runner-up, second-year quarterback, Drake Maye, and coaching genius, Mike Vrabel, and it is pretty safe to say that this team will be contenders. In addition, they picked up players who will be needed on both sides of the field, whom they can develop into future cornerstones of the team.
Now, already having one Super Bowl appearance under their belt and a young and energized roster, the future is bright for this New England Patriots team.
