Paul defeated Andre August on Friday night in Orlando.
Paul made quick work of August with a KO at the 2:32 mark of the fight. It was Paul’s fifth knockout in his nine-bout career (8-1 overall).
The win may have been the best outcome of Paul’s short boxing career. Until this year, Paul boxed MMA fighters and social media stars. But after a solid showing against Tommy Fury (10-0) and now August (10-1-1 going into the fight), Paul is showing he can compete against boxers. Moreover, Paul promised fans that he’d knock out August in Round 1 … and he did.
What’s ahead for Paul in 2024? I’d like to see the highly anticipated fight with Conor McGregor. A win would definitely show that Paul is a boxer to be reckoned with.
