Who’s Next for Jake Paul?

,

In two weeks, boxer and social media influencer Jake Paul is expected to announce his next boxing opponent for a fight on December 15th. The big question is: Who will it be?

On X, the 7-1 Paul hyped up his next opponent as “History being made.” As I see it, here are ten possibilities for Paul’s next opponent.

10. KSI: KSI and Paul have a lot in common when it comes to their careers in sports. KSI is a social media influencer, rapper, and CEO, having founded the sports drink company PRIME with rival-turned-friend Logan Paul. Both Paul and KSI have also had their share of haters in the sport of boxing, and both fighters have a near-perfect boxing record, with KSI at 4-1, beating the likes of Luis Alcaraz Pineda and Joe Fournier. However, KSI’s poor sportsmanship when he was defeated by Tommy Fury this year is something to frown upon, as Paul took his loss to Fury like a champion and used that motivation to get better. So, a fight between Jake and KSI could potentially humble KSI and teach him about the values of sportsmanship.

9. Nico Ali Walsh: Muhammad Ali’s son has had a very successful boxing career, with an 8-1-1 boxing record. If this fight were to happen, it could be a Fury vs Paul 2, in a sense, as the pressure was on Tommy Fury to beat Paul and defend the Fury clan name. Boxing, the son of an absolute legend in boxing, could also teach Paul valuable life lessons.

8. Canelo Alvarez: This boxer is a standout on this list, as Alvarez is on Paul’s opponent’s wishlist, and rightfully so. With a 60-2 boxing record under his belt, Alvarez has the potential to be Paul’s most formidable opponent yet. Rumor has also been going around that Alvarez could fight Paul on the 30th at the end of the year at the time of this article.

7. Hasim Rahman Jr: A fight between Rahman Jr and Paul was actually supposed to happen in 2022, but it was scrapped due to Rahman Jr’s issues with the weight requirements. However, if Rahman Jr is the opponent announced in two weeks, there’s a lot of pressure on his plate. Not only does he have a near-perfect 12-2 record, but he is also the son of boxing great Hasim Rahman. So, this could be another Fury Vs Paul-esque fight.

6. Andrew Tate: A controversial social media influencer in recent years, Tate could be another fighter similar to Paul that could be a picture-perfect matchup. With a 23-8 record in kickboxing under his belt and continuing to box every day, Tate could be another tough opponent for Paul to face. While this fight could result in some controversy (alas, Tate’s misogynistic comments), it could potentially be the fight of the century.

5. Blueface: While this opponent is more known for his music and family drama than his boxing, Blueface, AKA Cole Porter, is a promising name in the boxing world. Already having two wins under his belt, although they were against TikTokkers, Blueface fighting against an experienced boxer like Paul could be what cements his name into the sport.

4. Conor McGregor: This is another fighter on Paul’s wishlist for opponents and a legend in the sport. With a 22-6 MMA record and a boxing win under his belt, McGregor could be another tough opponent for Paul to face.

3. Tyson Fury: Tyson’s brother, Tommy, is the only person who could beat Paul so far in his career. But Tyson Fury against Jake Paul could prove to be a matchup to remember, as Tyson has been in the boxing world longer. With a perfect boxing record under his belt, could Paul potentially give Fury the first loss of his career?

2. Nathan and Elijah Lugo: When I interviewed these two brothers back in 2021, they said that they would love to get into the ring with Jake Paul as a way to humble Paul after an incident involving Paul not paying their father, Mike Lugo, to use their gym. Promising names in the sport are Jake and Logan Paul. vs. Nathan and Elijah Lugo could absolutely be a fight to remember, as the Lugo brothers have already accomplished so much, and they’re only teenagers.

1. Logan Paul: While Logan needs a little bit more experience in boxing before he’s ready to face off against his brother, his athletic career is already very influential. With a win against Dillon Danis, an exhibition match against Floyd Mayweather Jr, and several WWE wins under his belt, a fight between brothers could be something to remember.

Honorable Mentions

Mike Tyson
Ben Askren II
Nate Diaz II
Evander Holyfield
Nate Robinson II
Tyrone Woodley III
Floyd Mayweather Jr.

No one knows for sure who Paul’s next opponent could be. But one thing’s for sure: Whoever he faces next, the world will be watching.
