Brawl During Bout Spoils a Main Event

The anticipated Logan Paul-Dillon Danis bout turns sour.

Last night was supposed to be one of the most highly anticipated fights of the year. YouTuber, boxer, and WWE wrestler Logan Paul fought former MMA star Dillon Danis in a Manchester, England bout on The Prime Card. Also on the card was rapper, YouTuber, and boxer KSI, a frenemy of Paul, who faced boxer Tommy Fury.

Paul won against Danis and Fury beat KSI, but both fights were soiled due to what happened in the main event.

First, there was plenty of activity before the fight began. Paul’s fiancee had filed a harassment-related restraining order against Danis, and both fighters acted like children during the weeks leading up to the fight. The shenanigans included microphone throwing during the press conference and cyberbullying. It was an unhealthy situation going into the fight, with tensions high on both sides. Then, during round eight, Danis grabbed Paul by the legs, and a fight ensued between Paul’s security, Danis, and Paul. It ended with Danis being disqualified and Paul being declared the winner.

My thoughts on this? I believe sports should be about positivity and competing with a clear mind, and this fight should have been postponed until things calmed down.

But it is what it is. Hopefully, we’ll soon see the two square off in an unfettered boxing match.
