I am Anthony L. Griffin, a retired, disabled veteran and business owner who has invented a golf shoe that solves major problems for golfers. The ASA Augusta Solution Apparel’s Multifunctional Golf Shoe has functionality, fashion, comfort, stability, and traction.
An avid golfer and lover of the game, I set my mind on an invention while playing a round of golf while serving in the U.S. Army in Fort Hood, Texas. A golf tee flipped up and stuck into my shoelace one day while playing golf. So the next day, I set out on a journey to keep the tee on the shoe and more–to make a golf shoe that would make multiple golf tools accessible to golfers while playing golf. I call it a multifunctional shoe.
I began by doing a comprehensive study of golf shoes on the market and carefully analyzing golf shoes worn by men and women of all ages. I also observed golfers while they were playing golf. Those analyses led me to identify three problems, which I then set out to solve.

Problem #1, Solved: Golfers don’t always have a golf tee when they step up to tee off. I addressed that problem with my invention. I attached a tee support pocket directly on the outside of the golf shoe that can hold two golf tees, from 3¼” to 1¾”. After teeing off, a golfer picks up their tee and inserts it back into the golf shoe tee support holder pocket.
Problem #2, Solved: A golf ball often creates a divot, or a “pitch mark,” when it hits the green. Then, golfers pull out a divot repair tool. The problem is that golfers don’t always have that tool handy and ready to use. My invention has a divot repair tool positioned in a custom-made magnetized support pocket holder on the left outside of the golf shoe. So, now, a golfer can quickly remove the divot repair tool from the support pocket, fix the ball mark, mark their golf ball on the green, and then reinsert the tool.
Problem #3, Solved: Divot or not, all golfers need to mark their balls on the green. But golfers often don’t have a handy ball marker ready to use. So, I solved that problem by including two magnetized ball marker holders on my shoe. The markers won’t fall out and are easy to grab and replace.
So, there you have it! Finally, a multifunctional and fashionable golf shoe addresses problems golfers experience while playing the game.
