Paul vs Fury: It’s Time For “The Truth”

Will Jake Paul meet his match in Tommy Fury?

On February 26th, after three long years of waiting, 6-0 boxer and YouTuber Jake Paul will finally face off against reality show star, boxer, and Tyson Fury’s younger brother, Tommy Fury. The deal is that if Fury loses, he’ll have to quit boxing and change his name from “Tommy Fury” to “Tommy Mae,” his girlfriend’s surname. (Note: Fury said he wouldn’t agree to the name change.)

This is a significant fight in Paul’s career, as this will be the first time he will face a current boxer. (Previously, he faced Nate Robinson, Ben Askren, Tyrone Woodley, and Anderson Silva, among others.) As for Fury, not only is a lot on the line if he loses, but he’s had his share of issues that have caused the fight to be postponed numerous times.

But now, there are no excuses. Everything looks good for the 26th fight, dubbed “The Truth.” It’s a good moniker, too: truth will be revealed on both sides during the fight.

My prediction? As much as I have admired Paul’s career over the years, I think Fury might beat Paul by unanimous decision. Both fighters have been training hard for this fight, especially Paul. The problem for Paul is that Fury has more boxing experience, and two boxing figures, John and Tyson Fury, are in his corner. So, if not a tie or a knockout by Paul, it will be a win by unanimous decision for Fury.

The fight goes down on February 26th.
