Let’s Not Forget “Dream Team II”

, ,

The USA “Dream Team” in 1992 may have been the best basketball team ever assembled. But there’s also much to celebrate in Dream Team II, 1994.

The Dream Team, the USA basketball team that took Gold for the United States in Barcelona, was, in a word, FANTASTIC!

But the ’92 team wasn’t the only Dream Team in USA Olympic history. The sequel played in the ’94 Olympics. Dream Team II had a roster that featured Derrick Coleman, Joe Dumars, Kevin Johnson, Larry Johnson, Shawn Kemp, Dan Majerie, Reggie Miller, Alonzo Mourning, Shaquille O’Neal, Mark Price, Steve Smith, and Dominique Wilkins.

Like the original Dream Team, USA Basketball would dominate again, but it has never escaped the shadow of the original basketball team. Yes, the original Dream Team may have been the greatest basketball team ever assembled, but who’s to say that the sequel wasn’t just as good … perhaps even better. Shaquille, for one, thinks it was.
