Mbappe Sparkles in World Cup Play

23-year-old Kylian Mbappe has been the star of Les Bleus’ quest to win World Cup 2022. He dazzled with two outstanding goals in France’s 3-1 victory over Poland to secure their place in the quarterfinals. England is next.

Kylian Mbappe is “the GREATEST player in the game,’ claims former USA defender Alexi Lalas.

Alexi Lalas on his State of the Union podcast: We pump up the stars, like in any sport, and when we have stars at the World Cup, it doesn’t always work out where they live up to the billing. Yet, I think there’s a real case, and it’s debatable, that Kylian Mbappe is the greatest living player playing the game today.

With those two goals, Mappe increased his World Cup goal total to nine, breaking Pele’s previous record of eight goals in the quickest time for a player under the age of 24.

Now, he and his French companions will play England in the quarterfinals after The Three Lions stunned Senegal on Sunday, 3-0. England will undoubtedly face a tough test against France, and Mbappe, in particular, will aim to exhaust them.

The highly anticipated match-up will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m. Eastern US Time.
