Commanders remaining schedule (7-5-1): vs. Giants, @San Francisco, vs. Cleveland, vs. Dallas

Giants remaining schedule (7-5-1): @Washington, @Minnesota, vs. Indianapolis, @Philadelphia

Seahawks remaining schedule (7-6): vs. San Francisco, @Kansas City, vs. NYJ, vs. LAR

Lions remaining schedule (6-7): @NYJ, @Carolina, vs. Chicago, @Green Bay

The winner of the Giants-Commanders game would hold the head-to-head tie-breaker. With demanding schedules ahead, that would be hard for the loser to overcome. In addition, the Lions (yes, the Lions) look like they will grab the 6th playoff spot unless they lose to the Jets this week. The Lions have the most manageable remaining schedule among the four playoff contenders.

But for Washington fans, what matters is Sunday night’s primetime battle with NYG. It’s a big game that isn’t getting the national attention it deserves.
