Houston Texans are Uvalde Strong

,

Texans contribute funds and will acknowledge Uvalde during season-opener.

A tragedy happened in Uvalde, Texas, where 19 children and two adults lost their lives at Robb Elementary School. We will never forget them.

ABC News

The Uvalde Coyotes’ high school football team won their season opener by 21 points, and 21 angels must be looking down on them. Is it fate? It depends on what you believe.

What we know for sure is that representatives of the Houston Texans were there. The travel party included CEO Cal McNair, Foundation vice president Hannah McNair, head coach Lovie Smith, linebackers Kamu Grugier-Hill and Christian Kirksey, and director of player care and sports medicine Roland Ramirez, a Uvalde native.

Earlier, the Texans donated $400,000 to Robb School Memorial Fund. Now, and with Nike’s help, the team will provide new uniforms for the Uvalde Coyotes. And for the season opener versus the Colts, the Texans will wear “Uvalde Strong” on their helmets.

I am proud to be from the great city of Houston and also to be a Houston Texans fan.

Awesome story! I commend the Texans for doing that. I think more professional sports teams should do the same thing in their areas. Let’s face it…schools don’t get enough funding. R.I.P. all who lost their lives in the Uvalde shooting and God be with the families and friends of those who parished. Great story Matthew Paris!
