Houston High School Baseball is Worth Watching, and Here’s One Reason Why

Great ball is being played in the Southwest Preparatory Conference.

The stage was set with two Houston-are private schools playing n the 2022 Southwest Preparatory Conference tournament. It was Houston-Episcopal High School Knights vs. the Houston-Kinkaid Falcons.

It attended the contest cheering for the Falcons.  My nephew, Jack Paris, is a starting pitcher, having pitched and won the previous game.

The Falcons had beaten the Knights in the regular season so Episcopal was looking for revenge, and they got out to a quick start, taking a 2-0 lead. But after four innings, Episcopal had the advantage after four innings, 3-2. Then, Kinkaid’s Rashaad James led off the 5th with a solo home run that landed just inside the left-field foul pole, tying up the game 3-3.

The championship was on the line, and the Falcons came through. Davis Towns walked, and Jack Klosek hit a stand-up double to right field. With runners on second and third, Charlie Kugle hit another double, driving in both runs. And that’s how it ended, 5-3, Kinkaid.

Congrats to the Kinkaid Falcons, the 2022 SPC baseball champ!
