Warriors cruise over Mavs as Western Finals get underway.

There are no traces of rust from the Warriors after they trounced the Mavericks, 113-87, In Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. Luka Doncic was limited to 20 points with only a bucket to show for his efforts in the second half.

To some, it was a surprising outcome, given how well the Mavs have been playing recently. Dallas was fresh off a 33-point Game 7 win vs. the Suns.

But Dallas had trouble connecting in Game 1, shooting only 23% from three and 36% overall from the field. Assists (only 14) and turnovers (13) also characterized what turned out to be a subpar night.

It was a huge disappointment for Mavs fans who had waited over a decade to see their team in the Western Finals. Although Dallas has shown grit all season long, the big question is whether they will have enough to compete with the experienced Warriors.
