Wladimir Klitschko’s Journey to Freedom Fighter

A boxer by profession, Wladimir Klitschko is now a freedom fighter.

Klitschko is a former professional boxer who competed from 1996 to 2017. From Ukraine, he is a twice-over world heavyweight champion as awarded by the unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, and Ring magazine.

Klitschko was known for his hard-hitting style and knockout ability. He’s also (per Forbes) one of the highest-paid athletes in the world, with fights that attracted more than 10 million views.

But now, Klitschko is fighting for a different and personal reason–defending his country. Together with his brother, Vitali, he joined the Kyiv Territorial Defense Brigade, a military reserve component of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
