Nathan Lugo, An Athlete at Heart

,

At only 17 years of age, boxer Nathan Lugo has already made a name for himself with 21 national titles, two international gold medals, and an overall record of 219-9.

McElwain: First of all, let me start by congratulating you on what you’ve achieved at such a young age. Who is your boxing influence?

Lugo: My dad. He’s my coach, too, and he motivates me every day to do better and get stronger.

McElwain: What is your advice to anyone trying to get into sports?

Lugo: Just stay with it, train your hardest each day, and keep grinding.

McElwain: Who is your favorite opponent you fought and why?

Lugo: I don’t really have a favorite opponent, but I really like sparring tough pros to push myself harder.

McElwain: What are your views on Jake Paul as a fighter?

Lugo: Honestly, I don’t think much of him as a boxer. I don’t think he’s all that good. But he’s bringing some attention to boxing, so that’s cool. That said, I don’t like him as a person and here’s why. When he was at our gym, he didn’t pay my dad even when he gave us his word.

McElwain: Describe the sport of boxing in one word.

Lugo: “Beautiful.”

McElwain: What are your boxing goals?

Lugo: I want to be known as one of the best boxers to ever step in the ring.

McElwain: When you hang up your gloves, do you see yourself coaching other boxers?

Lugo: Probably not, honestly, but we’ll see. I’m an athlete at heart.

Does he get paid to box? He looks like he has been in a LOT OF BRUTAL FIGHTS ALREADY and if he indeed has had all of those boxing matches for “FREE.” it sounds like his dad/mentor/coach/enforcer should be getting this soldier some $$ for all that brain contact, to say the least! I would think. Right?

Definitely going to be rooting for this kid. Sounds like his father has put him under some sort of Russian “fight academy.” The Karate Kid movies all jumbled into a machine of a human being. Not sure any of this is safe, but in today’s world, people get a kick out of this kind of stuff! Brain damage? Probably, but man can he really fight! Is there any more videos of his boxing?

Wonder if Jake Paul is going to fight Nate Lugo NEXT? If so, I got JAKE.

I seen this guy beat up a grown out of shape man who never put on a pair of gloves before in some hood gym in Georgia. Very unprofessional TEAM! I hope this kid/boxer one day soon, FINDS A NEW COACH/ROLE MODEL, if so sky’s the limit with this Nathan Lugo feller!
