If you’re a movie fan and active moviegoer, then you’ve probably heard the name of David Fincher. Fincher is a Hollywood director and three-time Oscar nominee whose list of productions includes Fight Club, Seven, Panic Room, and Zodiac.

Fincher’s daughter Phelix may eventually follow her dad’s footsteps, but her signature to this point has been the sport of volleyball. UCLA had always been her favorite school, so it was no surprise when she decided to play volleyball for the Bruins. To get there, Fincher played pick-up games at a local park in hometown Hollywood and then competed for Campbell Hall High School in North Hollywood.

An outside hitter at Campbell Hall, she was named All-Alpha League Second Team and helped her school gain a berth in the CIF Southern Section Tournament. Fincher also played California club volleyball for a team called Legacy.

Now a UCLA sociology alumna, there isn’t a record of Fincher playing competitive volleyball since graduating. Now 27 years old, we don’t know much about what Fincher is doing these days–in sports or otherwise. And I, for one, look forward to news about what she’s up to and what might come next.
