“Certified Lover Boy” Promoted on ESPN’s Sportscenter

Reports suggest Drake hacked ESPN to promote his new album.

Hip hop artist Drake released his highly anticipated studio album, Certified Lover Boy, on Friday. With the help of Future, Jay-Z, Young Thug, Lil Durk, Lil Wayne, Yebba, Project Pat, Stems, Kid Cudi, and more, “Drizzy (as he’s commonly referred to) has a Grammy-winning album on his hands.

But the way Drake announced the release date was probably the most creative feature of this story. A glitchy advertisement, “CLB” with September 3rd written below it, was broadcast on ESPN’s SportsCenter last Friday morning.

After this creative move by the “6 God,” as Drake is also called, SportsCenter released this statement on Twitter: “We want to apologize for any interruptions viewers might have experienced during SportsCenter this morning. We had some technical difficulties that have since been resolved.”

Technical difficulties? It’s more like a creative collaboration between music and sports.
