TSC’s McElwain Wins Statewide Writing Award

, , , ,

Bestowed by Humanities Tennessee, the award is for a contribution linked to a script that McElwain wrote for TSC. McElwain, a Murfreesboro, TN high school student, is one of TSC’s prolific contributors, having published nearly 400 articles on our site.

Published as a five-part feature in June of this year, 999 Racing: Goodbye and Good Riddance, features the music of rapper Juice WRLD as protagonists and antagonists experience ups and downs in a script with a sports background.

For the award competition, contributors were asked to submit short pieces focusing on what they want America to be in 10 years. McElwain wrote about an experience he created for Jared, a seminal character in his 999 Racing script. In the closing, Jared declares: “Is this America? Last I checked, America was supposed to be free of negative energy. Of hate. Ten years from now, it has to come back.”

Join us in congratulating TSC’s Kadin McElwain.
