Lynx and Mercury are blessed with game-winning performers.

The Minnesota Lynx and Phoenix Mercury have faced each other only once this season–at the Target Center in the second game of the season–and a last-second heave by Diana Taurasi gave Phoenix the win, 77-75.

Now, let’s jump to late June. Taurasi not only scored a game-high 25 points versus the L.A. Sparks the Mercury’s last game, but she also hit the 9,000-point career mark. Brittany Griner added 22 points and eight rebounds.

The Lynx, on the other hand, will arrive in Mercury territory tonight riding high from a 90-89 OT win over the WNBA’s #2 team in the power rankings, the Las Vegas Aces. The Lynx got 30 points and 14 rebounds from Sylvia Fowles and a near triple-double–23 points, 10 rebounds, and a team-high 8 assists–from Napheesa Collier. Kayla McBride contributed 20 points.

It’s the 7-7 Lynx v. the 7-7 Mercury in a rematch tonight in Phoenix. Tip time is 10p. Eastern. The two teams go at it again on Saturday night, July 3.
