She will matriculate at USC.

Kobe Bryant died last year, the victim of a Southern California helicopter accident. His death was mourned throughout the world. More than a legendary pro basketball player, Bryant was also an engaged and supportive dad. One of his children, Gianna, died in the helicopter crash with him.

Another of Bryant’s children–his oldest daughter, Natalia–perseveres. And on Tuesday, mother Vanessa Bryant announced that Natalia, 18, was admitted as an undergraduate student to the University of Southern California. Natalia was enthusiastic about this opportunity, repeating ‘I got in!’ Vanessa exclaimed, “Daddy is proud of you.”

Last year, the Bryant family mourned the loss of their husband and father and their sister and daughter. But they have pushed onward. Congratulations, Natalia! You have a bright future ahead of you.
