Alex Trebek and Hockey

, ,

Trebek loved the game.

Last year, we lost one of the nicest celebrities ever to live, Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek, who succumbed to pancreatic cancer in November at the age of 80 years.

One of Trebek’s last efforts involved hockey, a game he loved.

Using the Jeopardy! format, Trebec announced that hockey player Tim Stuetzle was the third pick of the Ottawa Senators in the 2020 NHL Draft.

A year earlier, Trebek presented the Hart Memorial Award at the 2019 NHL Awards.

A man I admire, Trebek will always be remembered as a light in a dark world. RIP Alex Trebek.

Postscript: One of Trebek’s last pleas was for people to be kinder and to open their hearts and arms during these hard times. I agree.  If we can be kind to people, I think we’d also be a lot happier people. So, to honor Alex Trebek, please open your hearts and arms to others.
