1966 and Counting

,

All the incredible sporting sights that I’ve seen in my lifetime. I’m talking about sights that will live on forever.

How lucky I have been. It was 1977, the Super Bowl, Raiders vs. Vikings–the first game I remember. However, I recall my dad and his friends yelling at a horse named ‘Big Red.’ The year was 1973.

In my lifetime, I have been lucky enough to remember a lot of great sports moments and see great teams and players play. Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Evel Knievel. Wayne Gretzky, Ali, Mayweather, Michael Phelps, Mark Spitz, Ray Lewis, Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders, and Usain Bolt. The Miracle on Ice. Steeler Dynasty, the Dolphins’ undefeated season, the Cavs coming back from down 3-1 to win a championship. (Being a Cleveland fan, it may be my only one I’ll ever see).

If I stop and think about it, I need to add ‘Dr. J,’ The Running Rebels, Duke, and George Foreman.

Incredible, the sights I’ve seen in my lifetime. I’m talking about sights that will live on forever.

My favorite? It’s ‘The Miracle on Ice.’ It was played on my birthday. I was 14-years-old. What a present!
