‘Go Checkmate’ Conducts Highly Competitive 5th Online Simultaneous Chess Tournament

Youth chess players showed their mettle against an international master.


On Saturday, Singapore’s Chess School “GO CHECKMATE” conducted its 5th Online Simultaneous Tournament with participants from Singapore, India, and Dubai.

The tournament host was International Master(IM) BT Muralikrishnan. With a 2144 highest rating, Muralikrishnan is the 2003 National Cities Champion and Under 25 National Champion and is also the 2019 All-India Chess Grand Prix GKCA Champion.

From more than 100 entries, 27 participants (rated and unrated players) were given an opportunity to play simultaneously with International Master.

The tournament was conducted in LiChess Platform with a time control for the players set at 20 mins + 10 seconds increment, and for the host 110 mins + 10 seconds.

Event organizers—Vidhyavarshni, Mr. Praveen Kumar (FI), and Mr. Gunasekaran—congratulated Dhanesh Venkata Narayanaswamy for his win against the IM. Two other players—Chadralekha and Lakshanaa—drew against the IM.
