Dave East Used to be a Basketball Player

East isn’t your everyday basketball player.

Rapper Dave East is well known for hits like his Welcome To the Party remix with the late Pop Smoke and Kiing Shooter. But before we saw East on the microphone, we saw him on the basketball courts.

East was introduced to the sport of basketball on the first day of his life. His dad brought a basketball to the hospital where he was born. From there, East was hooked. He practiced and won many accolades for his skills, including getting an All-Met honorable played from The Washington Post.

East also played with the likes of Kevin Durant and Jeff Green, and he even got a scholarship. Among the players he idolized was Allen Iverson and Michael Jordan, whose jersey he wore for a comeback game.

Dave East is a solid rapper with a solid game to boot.
