‘White Iverson’ Launched the Iverson-Malone Connection

Malone tipped his hat to Iverson with a cut on his debut album.

Allen Iverson had an outstanding NBA basketball career. A first-round draft pick, Iverson was an 11-time NBA All-Star, the league’s MVP in 2001, and the 1997 ROY, among other accolades, including a shout out from rapper/rocker Post Malone.

A track is dedicated to Iverson on Malone’s debut album, Stoney. Called White Iverson, it’s one reason the album became a big hit.

In 2017, Malone and Iverson met at a party. Post memorialized that meeting with a photo posted on Twitter with the caption, “Finally!”

I dedicate this article to Post Malone, who was seen recently stumbling on stage and falling. Post, please get help.
