Sting is a Sports Aficionado, Too

Sting is many things, and like no other.


Musician Gordon Sumner, AKA Sting, is well known for his robust discography, which includes his work with The Police and as a solo artist. Fans flocked to Message In A Bottle, Roxanne, Every Step You Take, Don’t Make Me Wait, and, most recently, Two In A Million.

Sting’s sporting connections are almost as rich as his music.

–In 2000, Sting played in an exhibition chess game against grandmaster Garry Kasparov and four of his bandmates from The Police. All five lost.

–Sting is a runner, too. He used to run five miles a day and also participated in charity runs and races.

–Sting supports and writes songs for the Newcastle United football (soccer) team.

–Sting is also into yoga.

Sting is many things, you see. He’s like no other.

I was born in Kingston, New York, the second child of Monika Keiper and Matthew McElwain. At age two, I was diagnosed with autism, and I’m currently undergoing therapy to help me have a good life.
