Rapper Blocboy JB “Looks Alive” in the World of Basketball

, ,

When it comes to basketball, JB put his money on the line…and lost.

Rapper Blocboy JB is well known for hits like Look Alive, Shoot, Rover, Rover 2.0, Yoppa, and the Tay-K collaboration, Hard.

JB also “looks alive” in the world of basketball. An avid basketball player, he has played with Tristan Jass and Meek Mill. JB had to pay Mill 10k after losing a game to him, and that payout got the attention of rap blogger DJ Akademiks.

JB was well on his way to blending rap and basketball when legal issues got into the way. The NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies were going to team up with JB for a Jared Jackson Jr. figure promotion, but that changed when JB was picked up on drug and gun charges.

JB’s love of sports is real. Hopefully, he’ll be able to re-establish the connection between rap and the game.
