Rather than bury him before he even begins, let’s give Mourinho a chance to show what he can do.
It happened on Wednesday. Former Chelsea and Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, was sworn in as the new manager at Tottenham. He replaces Mauricio Pochettino, who was relieved of duties after serving five years and a half years.

Criticism has followed Mourinho throughout his career and, once again, is following him here. Yes, Mourinho has had ups and down’s over his career, but I believe we need to cut him slack. Give him a chance to deliver.
“I have no idea why Mourinho would want to touch this [Tottenham],” Craig Burley said on ESPN FC. “He’s not going to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool. Nowhere near it. So I don’t understand why he would want it.”
Why? Mourinho wants to coach again in the big time, and no other name team was chasing his signature. That’s why he jumped into the Spurs post.
Can he turnaround Tottenham? Consider the fact that this team isn’t far removed from considerable success. Hotspurs finished 2nd on the league in 2016 and reached the Champions League final last year. And they have a prolific goal scorer in Harry Kane, the man who won the 2018 World Cup Golden Boot.
Let’s see if Jose is the man to get this team back to heights they’ve enjoyed in the past. Base judgment on performance. Render judgment at season’s end.
