India’s Pranav Has Good Showing at Hyderabad Chess Tournament

Pranav places in Hyderabad

Last week, Mithun Pranav participated in the Pearl City-All India FIDE-Rated Chess Tournament, 2019. The tournament, held in Hyderabad, took place at the majestic Sapphire Function Hall.

Pranav played against seven rated players and won against three of them, scoring an overall 5 points out of 11 rounds played. That performance positioned Pranav in 7th place in the Under-7 Open category.

The tournament witnessed record participation. Over 480 entries set a new world record in the Noble World Records Registry. It was the most participants in a 6-day 1500 FIDE-rated chess tournament.
