Tale of Two Brothers Named Johnson

, ,

Frank established his name in the NBA. Brother Eddie did, too. Now he’s serving a life sentence in prison.

Two brothers played in the NBA: Frank played and coached in the NBA, and brother Eddie (AKA as EJ and ‘Fast Eddie) was an NBA basketball star. Now he’s spending the rest of his life jail.

Before his arrest, Eddie played guard at Auburn University and was selected by the Hawks in the third round of the 1977 NBA Draft. Eddie played on three NBA teams, named an NBA All-Star in 1980 and 1981. In one game, Eddie scored 43 points in less than seven minutes.

But not all was good in Eddie’s life. Addicted to cocaine, he logged in 100 arrests over time for numerous charges, including burglary, shoplifting, and robbery. The conviction that defined his life came in 2008 when he was convicted of a variety of sex-related charges associated with the actions he took with a person under the age of 12.

Johnson is currently 64 years old and is serving the 11th year of a life sentence.
