The Best of Animated Sports Moments

, ,

Animated programs aren’t just for kids. Important lessons about life are presented, sometimes about sports and life.

Here is my list of the Top 12 sports moments in animated programs. To create my list, I applied these filters:

1. Loud House isn’t included because I’ve written about the program many times at TSC.

2. No adult cartoons are included because they often include sexual references and cussing.

3. Animated movies, as well as TV shows, are both fair game.

So, with those three rules, here we go!

12. Mind Pollution “Captain Planet”: Drugs are a big problem in sports. Thie Season 2 premiere of ‘Captain Planet’ showcases the drug problem. The episode centers around Boris, who is addicted to the fictional drug, ‘Bliss.’ He gets a temporary high whenever he uses the drug. He also slips Bliss into his cousin’s food, getting her addicted to the drug. Addicts eventually become zombies. But ‘The Planeteers’ save the day … Borisdies from an overdose.

They encourage her to be a cheerleader or to go home and make pies. Penny doesn’t give up. She plays but gets injured. Still, she won the right to play.

10. Rob Dyrdek’s short-lived cartoon: This cartoon centers around the life of pro skateboarder Rob Dyrdek and friends. They try to become the greatest skateboarders in the world.

9. Peppa Pig “Field Day”: The episode centers around Peppa and her friends competing in a triathlon. The program’s message has eternal value: “It’s not about winning. It’s about taking part.”

8. Underdogs: This movie is about sportsmanship. The film centers around a foosball champion and a soccer star competing in a match to win the town back.

2. Pingu “The Hockey Game”: Pingu and his friends compete in a hockey tournament against a team that doesn’t practice good sportsmanship.
