Former Tampa Bay Buc Charged With Staging Break-In/Vandalism

,

Hate crime or a scam? This former NFLer is in a peck of trouble.

Edawn Coughman played in the NFL for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and spent time with six other NFL teams. Today he owns several food businesses in the Atlanta area, Create And Bake Pizza and Coughman’s Creamery.

Last week Coughman called the police to report break-ins/vandalism at both restaurants. TVs were pulled off of the walls, kitchen equipment was damaged, and graffiti was sprayed to make it appear it was a hate crime.

But it’s questionable whether intruders were responsible. Police think Coughman did it. Police charged him with filing a false crime report.

Here’s the story as reported by TIME.
