When food becomes a drug is Big Pun’s story

Rapper Big Pun was well known for the hit song, Ain’t A Player and album, Capital Punishment.

Pun was also known for his weight and addiction to food.

But Big Pun wasn’t always ‘big.’ During his early years, Pun trained as a boxer and played on his school’s basketball team. But later in life, the once-athletic Pun found comfort in food.

Over the years, his weight ballooned from 180 pounds to 620. Big Pun tried to change and dropped over 100 pounds at one point. But Pun gained back the weight almost as quickly as he had lost it. In 2000, Pun died in a hotel room of a heart attack. He was only 28-years-old.

Overeating cost Pun his life.
