Terry Long was a fan favorite for the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers. He had demons, though, which resulted in him taking his own life in 2005.

Pathological analysis found that Long suffered from CTE, the degenerative brain disease that is linked to other NFL deaths.

Terry Long was born in Columbia, South Carolina, and played college ball for the Wast Carolina Pirates before going into the NFL. He played in 105 games with the Steelers.

His death came by way of suicide. Long consumed a gallon of antifreeze.
