Versace and Sports Go Together Like Ice Cream & Vinegar. Right? Wrong!

With a fashion sportsline and love of tennis, sports were a feature of Versace’s life.

Gianni Versace was well known for being the first fashion designer to be involved in music, designing for friends like West Coast Rapper Tupac Shakur, East Coast Rapper Notorious B.I.G., and ‘Rocketman’ crooner, Elton John. Gianni was also well known for being gay, having a successful fashion line, marrying Anthony D’Amico, and being gunned down at the age of 50 on the steps of his home.

Last year, the film, The Assassination of Gianni Versace, put the late fashion designer back in the spotlight. But what most people don’t know is that Versace was involved in the sports world. He had a sportswear line and loved playing tennis.

While Gianni Versace is gone, his legacy in fashion, music, and his meaning to the LGBTQ community won’t be forgotten.
