For Simpson, football fame came first. Infamy followed.

Many people know about the infamous OJ Simpson trial. Football player OJ Simpson was on top of the world with money, fame, and a beautiful wife, Nicole Brown. Then his life came crashing to the ground.

OJ Simpson was born on July 9th, 1947 in San Francisco, California. His father, Jimmy Simpson, was a well-known drag queen in the San Francisco area. He died of AIDS in 1986. OJ had three siblings, a brother, and two sisters.

Early in life, OJ was arrested multiple times. Baseball star Willie Mays convinced him to turn around his life through sports. OJ became a football star, playing at a local junior college and then transferring to high-profile USC.

There OJ became an All-America running back and won the Heisman Trophy as America’s best college player.

After college, OJ was signed by the Buffalo Bills and became an NFL star, including achieving the NFL rushing record.

OJ was also a sometimes actor, appearing in TV shows, movies, and commercials. He was ‘The Juice.”

OJ met Nicole Brown in 1977, marrying her in 1989, five years after his retirement from football. They had two kids together, but the relationship was fraught with fights, reconciles, and continuous unrest.

OJ allegedly murdered Brown and a local waiter in a fit of rage. But he was acquitted in what became “The Trial of the Century.” His problems weren’t over, though. He was found guilty in a civil suit filed for the same crime.

Later, Simpson was found guilty for behaviors associated with trying to reclaim sports memorabilia Simpson said was stolen from him. He served prison time for that crime. He was released in 2017.

OJ lives on as one of the best football players of the 20th Century. But his name will forever be shrouded in disgrace.
