Amigos didn’t capitalize on its chances. Laro did.

Real Amigos goalkeeper, Jose Atienza, says his team didn’t deserve 7s League quarterfinal exit. The goalkeeper watched from the sidelines with a hand injury as Laro Delimondo FC came from behind to defeat his side 2:1 in Sunday’s Philam Life 7s Football League Season 3 quarterfinal match at McKinley Hill Stadium.

Real Amigos were on target in the first half as Ivorian and former Kaya U17 player, Jules Koumoin, scored from close range. After that goal, Amigos dominated Laro FC.

But although the team created many scoring chances, it failed to convert any of them. Laro, on the other hand, capitalized on its chances, scoring two late second-half goals to send the Amigos home.

Talking after the game, Atienza said that his team was just unlucky. “We dominated the match and didn’t deserve to lose, but we lost 2:1. There’s nothing we can do about it. Some days it’s just hard to score. Now we need to find ways to stamp our dominance in the next season.”

Atienza also plays goal for Kaya U17, which is playing currently in the Philippines Youth Football League.
