To Steelers, Let’s Give Credit Where Credit Is Due

Big Ben pulled off the win. The will of a great leader prevailed … again.

I don’t wanna come off as a biased sports blogger, but the Pittsburgh Steelers really played a great game on Sunday. But to be honest, I was torn between who I wanted to win.

Living here in Jacksonville, I appreciate the Jaguars, but I also love watching the Steelers play. That’s the team that made me fall in love with the game.

From start to finish, the game was a nail-biter. Even with mistakes made by the Steelers, the score remained close. Jacksonville capitalized on those mistakes, too.

But instead of staying in the hole that Big Ben dug for his team, Roethlisberger did what he does–fight back. And to do that on Sunday, he had to overcome awesome defensive play from Jalen Ramsey and the Jags’ defensive line.

Big Ben prevailed in the end, scoring on a run with seconds remaining.

Like all good leaders, he put the game on his shoulders. He didn’t disappoint.

But make no mistake about it: the Jags’ defense played really well. It reminded me of how good it was in Week 2 against the Patriots.

Having said that, the lesson from Sunday’s game is this: the will of a good leader can overcome excellent team play.
