Everton-ManU Tie, 1-1, In Premier League Play

On Sunday, Everton and Manchester United drew, 1-1, in a game where Rooney couldn’t play for United due to his suspension, and where Mata wasn’t in the starting eleven for United (he should be, according to some Manchester United fans, and, to be honest, I think the same!).

Nothing changed in the table, as the teams started the game with 1 point between them (United ahead) and finished the game the same! Manchester United is now in 6th with 21 points, while Everton is staying in 8th with 20 points!

15 minutes in there wasn’t a single chance or any relevant play! Finally, one minute later Marcos Rojo made an assassin tackle, which, in my opinion (I mean, I think it’s not just in my opinion, it really was a leg breaker!) should’ve been a red! Rojo escaped with just a yellow card.

Speaking of yellow cards, Gareth Barry should’ve also been punished with a yellow after stopping a dangerous counter attack for United with his hand. But he escaped that, too. Barry got punished with a yellow card 2 fouls later!

29 minutes in there’s finally a good chance for United to open the score. The referee gives a free kick near the area in a frontal position. Zlatan wasted the free kick, though, kicking the ball really badly, against the wall.

13 minutes later (42′), there’s finally a dangerous shot and…A GOAL! Zlatan scored with a great chip outside the box, after Stekelenburg missed the timing to get off the goal and tried to intercept the ball!

Funny enough, before the ball went into the net it stayed on the line for about 20 seconds–after hitting the post AND the crossbar! Funny goal, 0-1!

It was 0-1 at half-time with not much happening, except for a goal and two or three great plays!

At 54′ it was the best chance for Everton in the whole game, except for the goal! Mirallas (with some luck, I gotta say) gets into the box and shoots, but De Gea stops it incredibly well! Great save!

Just 5 minutes later, 59′, Herrera hit the post for United after a great play and a great cross from Michael Carrick! It was one of the few really good opportunities of the game!

Meanwhile, the Everton players started to get injured, one after another. Ronald Koeman was almost obligated to make 3 subs due to 3 injured players, one of them being Seamus Coleman!

In the 89′ (yeah, I know, nothing special happened in 30 minutes!!!), Fellaini makes a bad tackle inside the area and gives a penalty for Everton. Funny enough, Fellaini had just got substituted like 3 or 4 minutes earlier, and he just gave a penalty right away!

Good job, Marouane! Leighton Baines scores the penalty, makes it 1-1, and ties the game for Everton 89 minutes in!

That’s indeed how the game finished, 1-1, at Goodison Park!
