Here’s How To Improve The New York Jets

Storyline: The NY Jets need to add players through the draft, especially linemen, to make the team more competitive. Written by Drew Antin, New York City.

The Jets are a very good team–with solid offensive and a juggernaut defensive–but many people ask why the team is losing games to teams of lesser ability, like the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Jets coaching staff is great (don’t get me wrong), but Mike Maccagnan needs to draft really solid offensive linemen. Otherwise Matt Forte won’t have the holes to run through. Guys like Brian Winters just aren’t cutting it.

The Jets’ secondary is also great, but Darrelle Revis is getting old and can’t seem to cover fast receivers, like A.J Green and Antonio Brown. We need a fast cornerback so Revis can cover the #2 receiver.

The D-Line is stacked with Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson, but the linebackers need some work. Darron Lee was a great pick, but we need more players like him. David Harris is almost 33 years old and isn’t playing like he used to play.

The Jets need to draft 3-4 O-linemen and 1-2 LBs. The Jets also need Fitz for another year–until Bryce Petty is ready to take over at QB.

Remember, win or lose, we are Jet Nation. J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!

Sign this kid up as a future coach
    – he’s only 13, but really knows the game. Besides, his grandpa (me) could use a couple of Jets tickets now and then.

Antin makes a compelling argument through his analysis of the currents players’ strengths and weaknesses and how they effect the team’s play overall. I hope the scouts are listening and that the team heeds his advice at the next draft.
