If Today My Heart Stops, Albeit To Play Field Hockey In Heavens!

,

A poem about my passion, field hockey.

As you sit here serene as an angel for a sermon
The sunlight dancing upon thy sparkling pitch
I return every moment, restless as hell in moan
Relentless, and yearning for that original sin!

One intimate moment is all I madly desire
Begrudging, you gently trudge in many a feign
A bewitching touch upon they ball on fire
Whispering your teary-retina’s unabated secret in your eye!

I come back again, and again as a maser
Hoping one infinite moment you’ll relent
Granting me, an eternal redemption from cancer
A heart-wrenching hug arousing my soul, in true love lent!

And yet when my restless wave has turned morose and dull
Cadaverous and deceased in your tender comforting lap
I shall, from hell to heaven return in sempiternal lull
For Hockey’s the Holy Spirit that dreams can’t trap.

If today my heart stops, albeit to beat in heavens
Let me embark on a tranquil journey in empyreans
As I try to unearth the true nectar of myself
Let my physical remains, beneath the grave by thyself,
For my casket be smeared, mudded and unhonored.

Weep not thou, for my love for Hockey’s undaunted,
Weep not thou for shalt always be revered.
