Cavs Steam Through First Three Rounds of NBA Playoffs

Storyline: Cleveland is the first team in NBA history to win 10 consecutive playoff games. Written by Juan Medina, Colombia


The Cavs had a good regular season, ending up 57-25.

Cleveland was ready for the Detroit Pistons in the First Round. Game 1 was very tough, but the Cavs won by 5 points at home. Then Cleveland won the next three games easily.

The Second Round match-up was against the Atlanta Hawks. Hawks all-star guard, Kyle Korver, was sharp with  3-pointers and All-Star center, the Dominican Al Horford, was better than ever. But the Cavs started strong with a 104-93 victory. Then, in Game 2, the Cavs won, 123-98. Game 3 was similar with a Cavs’ victory. 121-108. Game 4 was tougher, but Cleveland prevailed, 100-99.

The Third Round against the Toronto Raptors was definitely a challenge for Cleveland. The faced All-Star point guard, Kyle Lowry, All-Star shooting guard, Demar Derozan, and rising center, Bismack Biyombo. The series started at Quicken Loans Arena, the Cavs’ home. The game was close, but the last quarter was great for the Cavs, and Clevland took home a victory, 115-84. The next game was in Cleveland, too, and the Cavs didn’t struggle to beat the Raptors 108-89, the record setting game.

Cleveland was he first team in the history of the NBA, to win 10 consecutive playoff games.
