Orioles Finally Hit .500

With the NBA Finals and Stanley Cup Finals approaching the last couple of games, it’s time to focus on MLB baseball.

Today the Orioles released Everth Cabrera, which made him a free agent.

After the Orioles swept the Boston Red Sox, they’ve been able to keep up the good work and decent hitting.

On June 13 the Orioles beat the New York Yankees, 9-4, giving the O’s a 31-30 record.

The Yankees scored in the first inning and were winning by two until the 3rd inning. Then Manny Machado hit a homerun and tallied four RBIs. Nolan Reimold had a 2-run homerun and tripled in the O’s sixth straight win.

The night before the Orioles crushed the New York Yankees, 11-3. Chris Davis was the star of the game with a homerun and four RBI’s. The Orioles are at .500 for the first time since May 5.

Even though the Orioles beat the Yankees in the past two games, there was another big story. Yankees’ third baseman, Alex Rodriguez, passed 2,000 RBIs against the Orioles. It wasn’t just an RBI–it was a homerun for Rodriguez. Hank Aaron is the only player to have over 2,000 RBIs with a total of 2,297.

Do you think Alex Rodriguez will pass Hank Aaron’s RBI streak?

Congratulations to Alex Rodriguez.

The Orioles are 4th in the AL East.

The next Orioles vs. Yankees game is scheduled for Sunday at 1:35.
