NBA ASG Format: HATE IT!

How does the NBA explain discarding an entire position when picking an All Star team? It should be impossible! Right?… WRONG!

I have to agree that in prior seasons, not having a center on the ballot made sense. When the demand is high, you have to be able to supply the masses; it’s just plain and simple arithmetic. If there’s a spot for two Centers on the team, you select a starter and a substitute; it’s not rocket science!

There are enough quality players in both conferences, where after the fans select the starter, the coaches can collectively get together and select a back up. I find it to be an enormous injustice when the best Center in the league, is relegated to being a back up because the NBA wants to speed up the game. That’s a bunch of CRAP!

Besides, I can’t think of one single Rockets game that I’ve watched this season where Dwight Howard wasn’t in motion. Whether it was offense or defense! This guy is a frequent ball of energy; he’s always moving! Once again this has proven to be “power ball” at its best.

The NBA powers have poked their noses where they don’t belong! The NBA regular season has always been about team unity, brotherhood, and one common goal; championship glory at the end of June. The All Star weekend has always been about individual accolades. A chance for the standout players to separate themselves from the rest of the pack and shine ALONE!

In the golden years of the NBA (I must sound pretty old with that one), there was no such thing as “Team Dunkers.” Dominique Wilkins, Michael Jordan, and Terrance Stansbury, would never team up with each other. As much as they respected each other’s talent, their competitive juices brought out that killer instinct within. All change isn’t good and this new all star format is just plain TERRIBLE! Let’s bring that “old thing” back (Thanks Notorious B.I.G.).
