Christmas Gifts: Jim Chaney

Christmas is a time for giving, so in the spirit of the season I’d like to give a couple of gifts to some very needy sports folks.  First, I’d like to give a little something to Raven’s “tackle” Michael Oher.  The gift I’d give him would be a stop light; you know, like the one that Mr. Rodgers (no, not the MVP QB) had in his place.  Basically, it could hang in front of him from those wires that they put the cameras on.  That way, he wouldn’t have to listen for snap counts, he could just wait until the light turns from red to green.  Green means go Michael!  Maybe, just maybe, we could avoid a few false start penalties in the new year.

The other gift I’d give this holiday season would be a winning season for the fans of the Pittsburgh Pirates.  I have a general distaste for Pittsburgh, being a Baltimore Ravens’ fan, but the poor fans of the baseball team in western PA have been through a really rough stretch.  20 years of losing baseball is gut-wrenching, and just when they thought they had a shot in 2012, the roof caved in on them again.  I wish the Pirates’ fans good luck in 2013; here’s hoping for at least .500!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
