T-Wolves Need Jimmy Butler!

Storyline: Jimmy Butler flourished under Tom Thibodeau in Chicago. It would be a shame to see the T-Wolves miss out on having that deadly combo in Minneapolis.

But the team needs one more piece to get over the hump and make the Playoffs. Over the last few days the T-Wolves have been rumored to be shopping for Jimmy Butler. But, according to Sports Illustrated, the Bulls rejected an offer that was to have included its most recent draft pick, Kris Dunn out of Providence.

The way I see it the Timberwolves need to work harder—even beg for Butler! Here’s why. The Western Conference is not getting any easier. Look, the Conference is loaded with teams like the Warriors, Spurs, and Clippers—all championship-caliber clubs. The T-Wolves have an uphill battle just to get to the 8th spot. Acquiring Butler would give the T-Wolves a shot at the Playoffs, a chance to pass contenders, like Dallas, Phoenix and Utah.

Also, this is a window of opportunity. Andrew Wiggins and Karl Towns are ready to win now. If the T-Wolves don’t show that they can be consistent winners, then they could end be right back with the #1 Draft Pick in a few years. Opportunity will have been lost.

Jimmy Butler flourished under Tom Thibodeau, transforming himself from a 2nd Round Draft Pick into a rising NBA star. It would be a shame to see the T-Wolves miss out on having that deadly combo in Minneapolis. That’s not saying Kris Dunn isn’t a nice player, but Butler puts them in a win-now mode.

So, Minnesota management, this is your wake-up call! Get Jimmy Butler!
