Memorial has always had a strong tennis program, even when I was a student there in the late 1990s. Memorial won its first state title in 2017 and repeated in 2019.

The Mustangs dropped the first match of the year, and then won every match after that, cruising through the tournament bracket. Along the way, they beat Pasadena Dobie, Barbers Hill, Pearland Dawson, Austin Vandergrift, Clements, Round Rock Westwood, then downed Southlake Carroll in the finals.

Congratulations to the Mustangs tennis team, including players Lucy Chung, Grace Martin, Zoe Smith, Addison Womack, Joowon Kim, Aiden Yang, Yosef Elyashkevich, and Nicholas Du, head coach Brian Mandell, and AD Brooks Haack.
