From Me to Oslo: Thank You, Norway!

Dear Norway, I don’t know how to express it in any other way: Jeg elsker deg!

Thank you! You had a run for the ages. You proved to the world that you’re not just for winter sports.

Of course, your World Cup journey could’ve been longer if the ball hadn’t hit the camera or the cable or whatever it was.

Also, it didn’t help that they took away our (yes, I am on your team now) a goal for pushing before the corner kick. It seems that everyone pushes during these chaotic, crowded sequences.

Props to England for selling their flop! Ultimately, as their own manager candidly stated, England was “lucky to escape.”

Anyway, I loved watching your players, too many to list by name. In all honesty, I wouldn’t be able to spell (or pronounce) their names anyway. But they were all magnificent, and I loved their understated celebrations. And I love the Norway fans.[/beautifulquote]

I’ll miss all the horns in the stands. And I’ll miss “the rowing.” Who won’t? There’s so much to unpack.

Oslo, I’ll be there sooner rather than later. Thank you!
