The worlds of faith and athletics run in parallel. Athletes pray after a touchdown and thank God in post-match interviews. But there is a deeper, untapped frontier beyond religious athletes. We need a new category of connection — Sports Evangelism.
This isn’t just about sports ministry; it’s about creating a spiritual ecosystem where the Word of God is woven into the very fabric of the game. Imagine a world where every play, every rule, and every physical exertion is embedded with a Biblical truth. It is almost like a new religion—a way of living where the court, the field, and the pitch become our sanctuary.
My vision for Sports Evangelism rests on two main pillars:
–The Integration of the Word: Using specific Bible verses to dictate the philosophy of play. For example, a team’s defense might be built on the “Shield of Faith,” or a marathon runner’s pace might be guided by the endurance of Hebrews 12:1.
–Universal Application: While this category applies to every sport the world knows—from soccer to basketball—it finds its purest expression in the sport I have pioneered.
The centerpiece of this movement is my invented sport, DUMBALL. I didn’t create DUMBALL just for recreation; I created it to be a vessel for this new category of evangelism.
In DUMBALL, the mechanics of the game are designed to reflect spiritual discipline. By embedding scripture into the training and the competition of DUMBALL, players aren’t just chasing a score—they are physically manifesting the Word of God. It serves as the “home base” for Sports Evangelism, proving that you can build a competitive, high-energy environment that is simultaneously a form of worship.
My goal is to apply this framework to all sports worldwide, whether it’s cricket, rugby, or tennis. I want to show athletes how to “play the Word.”
