The Day Michael Jordan Played Martin and Charlie Sheen

Who has heard of the War of the Stars? It was a show that aired from 1987 to 1988, with one episode featuring a celebrity event, where Michael Jordan played Martin and Charlie Sheen at a local high school.

The challenge consisted of three parts: a game of horse, free throws, and a two-on-one game. Charlie knew that they couldn’t beat Michael in Horse, but free throws were another matter.

Wouldn’t you know? The competition went just as Charlie predicted–Michael won Horse, and the Sheens won the free-throw competition. That meant the day would come down to who won the two-on-one game.

But the Sheens were realistic. Their goal was to secure a moral victory, which meant scoring against Michael. And that’s what they did. Martin threw a pass to Charlie in the corner, and Charlie got off the shot before Michael arrived. Swish!

The competition is something the Sheens will remember always. They played against somebody who would become the best player in the history of the game.
